Providing Generosity At Every Step
We are a non-profit organization created by a group of humanitarians to alleviate poverty and promote the social development of the elderly, children, and other vulnerable people who have suffered decades of socioeconomic conflict, excluding them from opportunities for a better quality of life. Committed to our service objectives, we have worked effectively for years to bring food and essential supplies and services to thousands of children and the most vulnerable adults in communities across Latin America.
Our Story
During the difficult Covid-19 crisis, Ruth Maldonado led her group of friends and family in a project to alleviate the necessities of those affected by the pandemic in Ecuador. They joined together to prepare essential food kits and distribute them to 100 families living in extreme poverty. This first project marked the beginning of a fulfilling journey for Ruth, who named the organization “Giant Heart,” to honor the generous hearts that came together with the sole purpose of providing aid to those in need. Since then, it has been wonderful years of continuous hard work in fundraising campaigns, to support thousands of vulnerable individuals. This has all been possible thanks to the support, kindness, trust and collaboration of volunteers and board members alike. In 2022, Ruth and board member Matthew formalized the creation of “Giant Heart,” as a 501c3 non-profit organization. This accomplishment has driven Giant Heart to pursue a greater goal of reaching those in need in South America through a variety of projects. These projects are not only to alleviate poverty, but also to empower individuals to succeed regardless of their circumstances.
